Successful Footbike World Championships Campaign

The Australian team performed extremely well with all places achieved being Personal Best times in all events at the Footbike World Championships 2014.

The Kostka sponsored Footbike World Championships were again close competition with the 2 strongest nations the Dutch and the Czech Republic taking out most of the medals. The Finns and the French were next on the medal count, with Australia taking a creditable 5th spot, ahead of the Germans.

Mirjam Lammers – Womens Veteran
3rd in the Sprints
6th in the Criterium
8th in the Endurance

Ali Hassan – Mens Junior
2nd in the Sprints
4th in the Criterium

Michal Kozar – Mens Senior
19th in the Sprint
24th in the Criterium
23rd in the Endurance

David Bye – Mens Veteran
19th in the Sprint
23rd in the Criterium

Bruce Cook – Mens Veteran
10th in the Sprints
10th in the Criterium
17th in the Endurance

Mens Relay – with only 30 minutes of handover training Ali, Michal and Bruce powered the Australian team home in 9th place out of 19 teams, and these are teams who compete in relays all the time.

Congratulations on Mirjam and Ali achieving Podium finishes in their age category, and to Mirjam, Michal and David for great results in the first ever Footbike World Championships.
